The setup of this scenario follows a similar theme like the previous Speed World rounds: This game world has a faster pace than our standard games, at 20 minutes per each day. The game starts in 1995 and ends in 2025 and the overall play duration is about 5 months.
The first 10 years of the game will follow the standard rules for airline expansion, but in January 2005 the whole world will be opened for new base airport expansions.
All airports globally and all aircraft models included.

AirwaySim has always two concurrent Beginner's World scenarios running (BW#1 and BW#2). They both use the same settings and same time frame.
Our beginner game series is aimed for all newbies and other players wishing to test different playing styles in an easier environment. Duration of one scenario is always approximately 60 real days. The scenario runs for ~10 game years with a speed of 25 minutes per day, and all of AirwaySim's main features are included in these scenarios.
When a BW scenario ends, a new one will start within a few days. The two scenarios are running in parallel so that there is always one BW scenario start every month.

Here is an update of the plan of the next AirwaySim game worlds:
The upcoming games will follow the standard rotation pattern where a new Epic length game starts soon after the previous one ends, and we have always three of these worlds running in parallel. Also The Speed World has proven to be popular scenario with modified rules from the standard games, and this scenario will also continue with a new game after the current one ends.
Upcoming game worlds at AirwaySim
Changes to these plans are possible, and the exact starting dates for each game will be announced separately.
Stay tuned also for development updates on our long-term update plans on new interface and features.

We had some issues with our email systems recently, and thought they were all good and fixed, but apparently the support ticket system (from "Contact Us" page) had still some issues after our recent server migration.
These are now fixed, and everything should be operating normally. If you have recently contacted us, you may expect a reply shortly.

We have noticed that our support ticket system and other emails have been unreliable for the last few weeks.
If you have tried to contact us, and have not received the automated ticket activation or other reply from us, please contact us directly at support (at) airwaysim.com
The issue is now fixed, and you might also now receive all the status updates, credits order receipts and other similars what might be in the delivery "backlog", so you may receive suddenly multiple emails from us, but it is just the system catching up of any undelivered news we may have for you - apologies for the delay in delivery.

Welcome to join the latest AirwaySim airline game!
The winner of our poll for the next short game is The Speed World. This simulation scenario will open on Thursday February 24th at approximately 17 UTC.
This game world has a faster pace than our standard games, at 20 minutes per each day. The game starts in 1995 and ends in 2025 and the overall play duration is about 5 months.
The setup of this scenario follows a similar theme like the previous Speed World rounds, but with a few twists. The biggest change is that there is only very minimal longhaul passenger demand at the start of the game. The longhaul passenger demand will increase when the game progresses during the first years. The number of used aircraft available at the start of the game is lower than usual.
The first 10 years of the game will follow the standard rules for airline expansion, but in January 2005 the whole world will be opened for new base airport expansions.
All airports globally and all aircraft models included.
We had a rather long downtime on our servers today, but now we are back online!
The reason for this outage was an unexpected problem in the server operating system upgrade process.
This task had been well tested before it was started, and the exact same upgrade had been performed to two other production-use servers at our disposal (which use the same configuration), and naturally also by hundreds of others people worldwide before us, so the full expectation was it would also work within the normal 5 minute timeframe here too. But for some unknown reason the process failed for us and left the servers unreachable (it appears to be bug in the operating system upgrade process).
This failure triggered the need to start troubleshooting processes for the upgrade which took over an hour, but this path also unfortunately seemed to lead nowhere, or it would have taken considerably more time. After this we made the decision to proceed with a total rebuild of the server environment, which took another few hours, but luckily went without problems since this is something we're prepared for and have a pre-planned procedure.
All systems should be now restored, and no data loss at all should have happened, and the simulations have resumed from the point they were left at in the morning when the upgrade started. Please inform us if some system isn't operating normally.
Sorry for the prolonged downtime - that's very unusual from us as you might know. :)
